DOPIS was the University of Reading Department of Politics Information Server. These HTML pages were written by the author whilst he set up the Hypertext Internet server in 1992 while teaching the course Modern International Relations in the Department of Politics. The purpose of the on-line Internet server DOPIS was to be a demonstrator for teaching and research purposes about Internet sources. DOPIS was the fore-runner to IHR-INFO which the author set up in 1993 at the University of London's Institute of Historical Research. The application DOPIS will only work on a UNIX SUN machine running SUNOS 4.x.
